Dog-Friendly Trails and Walks Near North Ingleside Townhomes
Living at North Ingleside Townhomes makes it easy to enjoy the outdoors with your four-legged companion. From quick neighborhood-friendly walks to longer scenic hikes, Fayetteville offers several nearby places where leashed dogs can explore alongside their owners.

Cape Fear River Trail
The Cape Fear River Trail offers more than seven miles of paved pathway winding beside the Cape Fear River. Along the way, you’ll pass wooded areas, wetlands, boardwalks, and plenty of natural scenery. Dogs are welcome as long as they remain leashed, and pet owners should bring supplies to clean up after them. Since the trail follows an out-and-back route rather than a loop, it is helpful to choose your turnaround point before you begin.

J. Bayard Clark Park
J. Bayard Clark Park and Nature Center features peaceful, unpaved trails through the woods, along with convenient access to the Cape Fear River Trail. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you. For an extra-fun outing, ask the Nature Center about its complimentary Bark Ranger Program. Dogs and their owners can complete activities along the trail and earn an honorary Bark Ranger reward. It may be the cutest promotion your pup ever receives.

Lake Rim Park
For a shorter and more relaxed walk, Lake Rim Park offers a one-mile trail that travels through wetland scenery toward Bone Creek. It is a great choice for pet owners who want to spend time outside without planning a lengthy hike. Dogs are welcome when kept leashed, supervised, and under their owner’s control.

Carvers Creek State Park
Carvers Creek State Park is ideal for pet owners looking for a longer outdoor excursion. Its trails lead through longleaf pine forests, wetlands, ponds, and historic areas, offering plenty to see along the way. Dogs are permitted on designated trails when secured on an attended leash no longer than six feet. Visitors should clean up after their pets and be courteous to hikers and other trail users.
